Divestitures
 What are Divestitures?
Divestitures are the release, usually by a sale rather than the acquisition, of assets. This is the reverse of an investment, and may be motivated by many different reasons including: financial, health, age, retirement, exit planning, emotional, or geographical among others.
Assets that could be divested are Business Organizations or Real Estate (commercial or residential) among others, and should follow a planned strategy to maximize the value of the assets being divested (sold).

Business Valuation
 What is Business Valuation?
A Business Valuation is a determination of the worth or “Fair Market Value” of a business and is different from an appraisal, which relates to Real Estate or Tangible Personal Property.
“Fair Market Value” is a central standard of measuring business value and is defined as the price at which a business would change hands between a willing buyer and a willing seller when the former is not under any compulsion to buy and the latter is not under any compulsion to sell, and with both parties having reasonable knowledge of all relevant facts.
Business Valuation is a process and a set of procedures used to determine the economic value of an owner’s interest in a business and is often used to:
A) Estimate the selling price of a business.
B) Resolve disputes related to:
- Estate and gift taxation, and divorce litigation
- Allocate business purchase price among the business assets
- Many other business and legal disputes
